Text: Matthew 6:21

I. INTRODUCTION
A. Treasure:

  1. A deposit that is wealth
  2. Something very much valued, precious
  3. To collect for future use

B. Heart:

  1. The inner of affections and passions
  2. The person’s will
  3. The person’s character

C. Invest:

  1. To commit (money) in order to earn a financial return
  2. To make use of for future benefits or advantages
  3. To involve or engage especially emotionally

II. TREASURES WE INVEST IN GOOD OR BAD

A. Soul (Spiritual beings in our human body)

  1. Genesis 2:7 — God Gave Us Life
  2. Romans 3:23 — Sin: Transgression of The Law of
    God
  3. Romans 6:23a — Death: Eternal Separation from
    God
  4. Revelation 20:14 — Death: Hell and Lake of Fire
  5. Romans 6:23b; John 3:16; Romans 10:9
    Salvation and Eternal Life Through Jesus Christ

What is your soul’s treasure? Sin/Eternal death OR Jesus/
eternal life

B. Priorities and Values

  1. Priority: Superiority in Rank, Position, or Privilege
  2. Values: Relative (related), Worth, Utility (useful) or Important

C. Two Different Values

  1. Earthly Value (Matthew 6:19-20)
    a) Pirates and Treasures — Where?
    b) Today Treasures: Food, Clothes, House, Car, Etc.
    c) God, His Providence (Philippians 4:19)
  2. Spiritual Value (Galatians 5:22-23)

D. Choices and Decisions

  1. Choice: The Act or Power of Choosing
  2. Decision: The Act of Process of Deciding

God gave us free will (John 7:17; Matthew 6:24)

Women are emotional creatures. We as women make choices and decisions base on emotional security.
Worry: deal with by shopping, binge eating, glass of alcohol, lose control of emotions (scream, yell, temper), use technology, Etc. Philippians 4:6-7 — Give all to God and Trust Him
